In the Leone Rock Premier League match on Wednesday, at Brima Attouga Mini Stadium, Ports Authority FC came from a goal deficit to secure all three points against arch-rival Mighty Blackpool. Goals from Abu Bakarr Shago and Abass Conteh were enough for the Waterfront Boys.

The visitors Mighty Blackpool FC got off to a fast start, using their wingers to create threats in front of the goal and playing from left to right. Ron Gandi Williams kicked off the scoring for Mighty Blackpool in the eighth minute of play. Yusuf Papa Conteh assisted a fantastic free-kick deep into the box which Ron Gandi Williams took quick advantage of the opportunity.

The host Ports Authority got into the match after 15 minutes of play, posing a threat in the final third of the visitors. The Waterfront boys scored their equalizing goal in 32 minutes of play, as Abu Bakarr Shago converted a pass from Abass Conteh in the left-hand flank and placed the ball back of the net to give the host the hopes of getting back into the match. 11 minutes later, the host secured the winning goal as Abass Conteh in (15) Jersey converted a pass from Mohamed Bangura just outside the (18) yards box to give Ports the vital lead before halftime.

After recess, both teams returned to the pitch of play with high intensity and expectations after the second half of team talks. Mighty Blackpool came close to leveling the day in the 70th minute of play as Donald Wellington missed a glorious chance in the eighteenth-yard box amid the Ports Authority’s defensive wall.

The Waterfront Boys’ sensational winger Joseph Cleveland missed another glorious chance outside the 18-yard box. Mighty Blackpool Mohamed Bangura hit the woodwork twice which could have given the host the chance to double up their lead in the match.
Mighty Blackpool’s defeat means their back-to-back loss since the start of the season in the Leone Rock Premier League, with nine points after five matches played.

Port Authority returned to winning ways after suffering a defeat against BO Rangers and a draw with FC Kallon. In the end, Abu Bakarr Shago won the Man of the Match award after an impressive performance throughout the match.
